“The increase of the national minimum wage is a requirement of dignity and should not have counterparts beyond the work done by each worker”

The PCP has no doubts: the reduction of the Single Social Tax (TSU) as the exchange rate for the increase in the minimum wage “is a wrong and harmful measure for workers” and “represents a form of corporate financing” and an “incentive to hiring of workers with minimum wage “. And that is why it “should now be repealed” in Parliament’s parliamentary assessment.

“The increase of the national minimum wage is a requirement of dignity and should not have any counterparts other than the work done by each worker,” stressed Rita Rato, recalling the justice of the increase in minimum remuneration.

Rita Rato even recalled that the national minimum wage had been frozen between 2011 and 2014 and that “if it had been updated, considering inflation and increasing productivity, it would be around 1,200 euros per month today.”

Moreover, Rita Rato spared no criticism of the attitude of the PSD that will help stop the discount in TSU but, according to the communist, by political opportunism and not by understanding that the measure is unfair.
