Yesterday, the office of foreigners and borders (Immigration) seized 1796 Packs of tobacco during an operation where the crime of use of other people’s id or travel was investigated.
During the diligence, three travel bags containing the packs of tobacco, a total of 35 920 cigarettes, without any special information or characteristics defined for their marketing, were detected in sintra.
Given the origin of the bags, the tobacco in question is expected to have come from Morocco by air.
For violation of the requirements of the code on consumption (Ciec), the packs of tobacco seized and present to the public prosecutor of the geographical air where they were detected, together with their office.
After validation of the apprehension, the public prosecutor determined the continuation of further investigation through another criminal police body to be assigned.
