Diver who rescued 12 children in Thailand cave died

A Thai naval officer who rescued 12 children and his soccer coach from a cave in northern Thailand died on Friday.

The coach and 12 young people between the ages of 11 and 16 were rescued at Tham Luang Cave on 23 June 2018 following a flood caused by the rains that trapped them in that cave.

The rescue was carried out nine days after the alert, Beiret Bureerak was part of the rescue team of the youth group. News of the death of this officer was given by the Thai navy.

The diver suffered a blood infection after the mission was completed and, despite receiving frequent treatment, his health worsened leading to his death on Friday.
