Alexis Brett, a 39-year-old woman from Britain, was able to give birth to a girl after ten attempts. Don’t worry if you think this woman tried to get pregnant ten times and couldn’t. Actually Alexis already has ten young boys.
The new family member was born on August 26, at a time when the family is going through a more complicated phase, after David, the children’s father, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
To the British newspaper The Mirror , Alexis said he was “on the moon.” “I was hoping to be told that I was going to have another boy, but when I found out it was a girl my face changed. I was shocked but very happy,” he said.
The baby is called Cameron and already stands out among the brothers, aged between two and 17 years. David confessed that now the young boys even “behave better.” “They all want to help” with tasks with the girl, “he said.
For the Dingwall couple in the Scottish Highlands, Cameron’s arrival marks an end to the family. David and Alexis don’t want to have any more children. “I had said that last time [and Alexis got Cameron pregnant again], but now I mean it seriously,” the mother joked.
To the British newspaper, Alexis also said that she discovered she was pregnant on Christmas Eve last year. The family had a virus, and in Alexis’s case the problem was taking a long time to resolve. That’s why Alexis did a pregnancy test, which was positive.
They decided to want to know the sex of the baby before birth [in the case of the boys never wanted to know] and when they had an ultrasound scan, they had the desired surprise: a girl was on her way.
