Researchers seek volunteers willing to be injected coronavirus for thousands of euros.

LONDON.

Have you ever imagined being paid to have coronavirus?

A group of scientists is willing to pay more than 3,500 pounds – around 4,000 euros – to volunteers who are willing to be infected with coronavirus as the search for a vaccine becomes increasingly important.

The Queen Mary BioEnterprises Innovation Center in London is recruiting 24 volunteers for the research.

These will be injected with two weaker samples of the deadly virus – which killed more than 3,800 people worldwide – and will have the same respiratory symptoms as those of an infected person.

The goal is to test whether the vaccine they are developing is effective. Another 35 vaccines are currently under development and the UK government has pledged an extra £ 46 million to fight the coronavirus.
For this test to go forward, the UK drug control body will have to agree to it.

Once the study is authorized, volunteers will need to be quarantined for two weeks and follow a restricted diet in order to receive the check. They are not allowed to contact anyone else or exercise.

Doctors working on the study will assess them using protective clothing and ventilators.

In the UK, three deaths have already been reported due to the virus that started in China.
