Daughter dies of heart attack during funeral of coronavirus-infected mother

Laura Richards, 32, suffered a heart attack when her mother Julie Murphy, 63, was being buried.

A woman passed out and died during her mother’s coronavirus victim’s funeral.

Laura Richards, 32, suffered a heart attack when her mother Julie Murphy, 63, was being buried in England.

According to the publication Mirror, the family and the priest present at the scene tried to save the woman, but she ended up dying there.

She was among the few gifts allowed at Julie’s funeral in Atherstone, Warwickshire, last week, due to rules of social detachment.

Four-year-old mother Julie, who had multiple sclerosis and dementia, died on March 15 after contracting coronavirus in her nursing home.

Laura’s half sister, Sadie, 45, told the same publication that the family is shattered by experiencing a “double tragedy”.

“They were lowering our mother’s coffin to the ground and Laura suddenly said, ‘I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe’,” said Sadie.

The priest tried to help, but there was nothing left. “I was clinging to my chest, I could barely speak or catch my breath,” recalled the sister, who speaks in a horror episode: “losing your sister at your mother’s funeral – it’s like a horror movie. She was only 32 years old. I think that her body gave up on her “.

In the days before her death, Laura posted an emotional tribute to her mother on Facebook: “I [love] you,” wrote the woman, adding an emoji from her heart.

Warwickshire police confirmed the occurrence, after they were summoned to the scene around 12:30 pm on Tuesday, March 31.

“The woman was taken to the hospital by the ambulance service, but unfortunately she died,” confirmed a spokeswoman for the authorities.
