Portugal’s Prime Minister, António Costa, has today received a guarantee from the French President, Emmanuel Macron, that no quarantine measure will be imposed on Portuguese emigrants who return to France across the land border with Spain.
On his official twitter account Costa wrote the reassurance was “a gesture of friendship and deep recognition for the Portuguese Diaspora in France”.
The Portuguese premier offered his heartfelt thanks and in a message to the Portuguese community in France said Portugal will be here waiting for them this summer.
