Arrested and fined for eating cake on the street

Man detained by the Paris police for having disregarded the mandatory use of a protective mask on the streets of the French capital.

A man was arrested by the police and taken to a Paris police station. Your crime? Have dared to eat a cake on the street!

“I still had the paper napkin in my hand to throw it in the trash”, explains David Ambroise to the morning Ouest France.

An agent who was already watching him as soon as he left the pastry shop immediately went to the offender and asked for his identification.

“He told me that he should have chosen another time to eat the cake, and that he couldn’t do it on the street,” explains the computer scientist.

“I was furious and told him I was crazy. It was at that moment that his eyes started to roll and he ordered me to get into the police car.”

Immediately, he turned on the sirens and immediately took him to one of the squadrons in the French capital. Another agent, who was already inside the vehicle, forbade him to touch his cell phone.

Minutes later, the offender was released, with the police informing him that he would be summoned soon to go to court for four crimes.

If you are found guilty by the judge, you will have to pay a fine of 135 euros for not complying with the mandatory use of the protective mask.

The other three penalties, of 68 euros each, are due to contempt for not accepting the orders of the police officer.

“Being arrested for eating a cake on the street is crazy; it’s a completely crazy situation!”, Indignates David Ambroise.

Since August 28, the use of protective masks is mandatory throughout the city of Paris by people over 11 years of age, as well as in more than 13,000 locations in France.

The measure aims to stop the high number of contagions by Covid-19 that the country has registered in the last three weeks.
