LISBON.
The President of the Republic Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, enacted this Tuesday the Government diploma that amends Decree-Law no. 10-A / 2020, of 13 March, which establishes exceptional and temporary measures related to Covid -19.
One hundred and twenty-one municipalities will be covered, as of Wednesday, by the civic duty of home collection, new hours at the establishments and mandatory teleworking, unless “reasoned opposition” by the worker, due to covid-19.
The restaurants in these 121 counties on the continent, a list that will be reviewed every 15 days, will not be able to have tables with more than six people and their closing time will be at 10:30 pm. Commercial establishments will generally have to close at 10 pm.
“If we have nothing imperative to do, we should stay at home. Of course we can go out to work, to go to school, to do the shopping, to do some physical exercise in the vicinity, to walk pets, to assist someone you need, but the rule we must not forget: we must stay at home “, affirmed António Costa when he announced the new restrictions.
In 121 municipalities, it is also “mandatory to delay working hours, as already legislated and in force”.
The limitation of groups of six people in restaurants will be applied to the entire continental territory, where the calamity situation will remain in force for two more weeks.
The new measures will come into force after the document promulgated by Marcelo is published in Diário da República.
