The Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) detained a 49-year-old Portuguese citizen at Porto Airport with an arrest warrant when he was trying to board a flight to the United Kingdom, it was announced today.
In a statement, the SEF clarifies that the detainee, residing in France, was wanted by the Portuguese authorities for the commission of crimes of simple theft and aggravated theft, on whom an arrest warrant was pending.
According to the SEF, the man “had been sentenced to three years and six months in prison.”
The man, who was arrested on Friday, was taken by elements of the SEF to a prison to serve his sentence.
