As for the number of infected by Covid-19, the DGS epidemiological bulletin reports 11730 cases, 452 more than yesterday, Sunday.
The number of recovered people almost doubled to 140, compared to 75 yesterday.
During the DGS press conference, Alexandra Bento, chairman of the Order of Nutritionists, was given the floor, who stressed that there is “no miracle solution to strengthen the immune system”. “The immune system thanks you to stay at home and eat healthily,” he said, reinforcing the intake of fresh foods, fruits and vegetables in the daily diet.
Asked about the controversy over the widespread use of masks during the pandemic, Graça Freitas, director general of Health, said that to date Portugal is aligned with the WHO. He also left the appeal to the Portuguese who need to resort to medical assistance due to other pathologies that do not fail to do so. “Don’t be scared by Covid,” he said.
As for the ventilatory capacity in Portugal and the increase in the number of patients in intensive care in the last few days, António Sales, Secretary of State for Health, took on some concern, reiterating an effort so that there are no failures in the NHS.
António Sales again stressed that Portugal has strengthened its testing capacity in recent weeks. “We carried out more than 110 thousand tests in Portugal and it is important to say that Portugal has about 10 500 samples per one million inhabitants, something that is in line with some of the European countries that test the most in Europe”, finally shot the secretary of State.
