The Hospital Center of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (CHTMAD) said today that four positive cases of covid-19 infection were detected at the Vila Real hospital, including three professionals and a sick person.
In a statement, CHTMAD said that “the three professionals and one patient were immediately isolated and all their contacts were flagged”.
He added that tests have already been carried out on all users of the service, that he is completing the testing of health professionals and that he has already carried out a total of 145 tests.
The board of directors guaranteed “to the entire population and health professionals that all safety conditions are guaranteed in the hospital center”.
CHTMAD has its headquarters in Vila Real and also includes the hospitals in Chaves and Lamego.
According to the latest bulletin from the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), Portugal accounts for at least 1,995 deaths associated with covid-19 in 78,247 confirmed cases of infection.
