Covid-19: Complete vaccination in mainland Portugal reaches 83.89% of the population

About 8.27 million people in mainland Portugal had complete vaccination against covid-19 until 19:00 today, revealed to Lusa official source of the ‘task force’ that coordinates the vaccination process.

According to the same source, this means that 83.89% of the population of mainland Portugal has complete vaccination.

About 8.53 million people have already received at least one dose of vaccination.

Since the beginning of the vaccination process, in December 2020, until today, 15.21 million inoculations have been administered in mainland Portugal.

Covid-19 has caused at least 4,740,525 deaths worldwide, out of 231.48 million infections with the new coronavirus recorded since the start of the pandemic, according to the latest report by the Agence France-Presse.

In Portugal, since March 2020, 17,954 people have died and 1,066,945 cases of infection have been recorded, according to data from the General Directorate of Health.

The respiratory disease is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China, and currently with variants identified in several countries.
